Ibn tofail is a doctor and Muslim scholar who lived in Andalusia and Morocco between 1110 and 1185. "Al-Urjuza fi Tibb" is his main work in the medical field, It is a poem composed of 7700 verses in which Ibn Tofail treats several medical specialties in a general , analytical and accurate way based on the theory of the humours.

It is to mention that studies and scientific analysis have already focused on some topics of the Urjuza including: Cardiology chapter, Asthma chapter and Urology chapter .

This work is intended to carry out the Data analysis of digestive semiology in the Urjuza of Ibn Tofail comparing it with the current digestive semiology.

The treated digestive chapters concern the following organs: the stomach, the  liver and gall bladder, the small intestine and colon, as well as other symptoms.

In this research, we found a high correspondence between current semiology and Ibn Tofail’s description for the following symptoms: colonic obstruction, jaundice (cholestasis), cholera, splenomegaly …

And then we found a certain similarity concerning the following symptoms: Nausea and Vomiting, Dyspepsia, Burping, Hiccups, Hepatomegaly, liver failure and liver tumors, Ileus, Hemolytic jaundice, Hemorrhoids.

On the other hand, we found a difference between the analysis of the symptoms remaining with current semiotics that can be explained by the use of the Humorism currently  replaced by Physiology and Etiopathogenesis.
